BEHIND THE LENS

 

Hey! My name is Lauren Simon Derouen, nice to meet you!

I'm 27 years old and from Louisiana! I married my favorite guy on October 24, 2020! It was the best day ever! We welcomed our daughter on January 10, 2022 and it has been the sweetest journey yet.

I'm that rare type of person who has known what they wanted to be when they grew up, since the age of 6...... I never steered away from it in all the years of growing up! When I was 6 my mom let me get my hands on the camcorder that she used to make home videos of me. I quickly fell in love and making videos was my new favorite hobby, when I was only in the first grade!

I graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in May 2017 with a degree in Moving Image Arts! 

I have always known that I wanted to have a career in film but surely didn't expect to be at this point in my career! I am so lucky! Creating a video for someone that captures priceless memories that they will be able to relive whenever they want is something I cherish. I look forward to working with you in the future and giving you a keepsake that you will always remember! :) 

 

"Why should I book you?"
If you are asking yourself this question, let me further explain what I do!
It's no secret that I've had this burning passion to create films for over 20 years now but that isn't all! I truly want to capture everything in the most priceless way possible! You can forget awkward/uncomfortable posing when working with me! I love to capture the moment exactly how it happens! If you are whispering in your grooms ear and you both bust out laughing uncontrollably, I LOVE moments like that! I don't want you to be super posed and look back at your wedding film and think it's beautiful but wish it was more simple/natural! 

I try to blend in as much as possible with your family/friends, I want you to feel comfortable and enjoy the day without feeling like you have a camera on you the entire time! I literally do not put my camera down on wedding days. I am constantly looking for that next sweet moment to capture... I always joke that I'm like a talent scout on a wedding day! Always looking around and ahead! 

I am always thinking that this video that I am creating is something that you will watch on your anniversaries and eventually your kids will watch it too! I want it to be SO special for you. I also give you two videos at no extra charge! I want you to have that full length wedding film that has every detail in it and also the shorter, highlight style film to enjoy on random days of the week! 

Your wedding day will go by so fast, let me be there to capture it for you so you can relive it whenever you want!
